In 2019 we are going to see a lot of typography, a lot of bold, thick fonts, and san serifs with no ligature. Trends are moving towards a more futuristic look in 2019 so while serif fonts will still be part of some styles we are going to see a lot more san serifs.
Thin lines are a huge thing for me, I love thin lines, but this year they are being replaced with bold, bright, in your face lines that grab your attention. Line art, like in the photo below, is going to be huge and photo style graphics are going to be seen a lot less. Expect to see a lot of minimalistic designs with bold lines this year.
Vibrancy is going to be a huge deal in branding in 2019. This does not mean that you will only see warm bright colors, you will see cool colors as well, but the brighter higher vibrancy colors will be more accentuated. So are going to see a lot more bright pinks than the pale coral colors we saw so much of last year.
We will also be looking at a lot of gradients. I use gradients a lot. It’s something I used through 2018, and I am excited to continue using them this year. Gradients give a more flowing vibe rather than a crisp cut and clean vibe. Gradients add relaxation to your branding and attract a less tense clientele.
The futuristic look I discussed above will come with a lot of geometric shapes. It will be sleek, bright, and bold. 2019 is high vibe and high energy. It is the year to get up and move, de-clutter your house, get rid of your things, de-clutter your branding, and move into a higher space.
